A series of four figurative sculptures based on symbols of learning and growth, as well as 12 smaller panels utilizing quotes and images chosen by students at Corvallis High School. Installed in the upper library hallway in the new Corvallis High School building.

These 16 sculptures were installed in the upper library lobby at the newCorvallis High School building in Corvallis, Oregon (where Steve Gardnergraduated from high school). Four of the sculptures depict heroic figureswho represent some of the learning, growth, and exploration that occursduring this period of life. Twelve are smaller relief tiles with incisedquotes and images set within them. Their background design alternatesbetween organic and geometric design, as well as cool and warm colors.

There was a strong effort made during this project to include student inputinto the final sculptures. Part of that process entailed asking students tocontribute some of their favorite quotations that they would like to see intheir school.
